Why I should be Miss Kansas:
We live in a society where the world’s cultures are coming into contact with one another more and more frequently. It is important for our youth and young adults to not only be educated on diverse societies, but also experience them first hand. I am extremely passionate about this issue because I myself was transformed from a naïve Kansas native to an open-minded traveler who does not consider other races as foreigners, but as neighbors who deserve an open mind and heart. As Miss Kansas, I can implement this mindset on Kansas’ youth by educating and finally informing them about the Kansas Ambassadors of Music program in which they can open their minds and experience life through the eyes of others. Many musically inclined young adults simply do not know about this group and the opportunity it presents because it has not been publicized enough. I believe that as Miss Kansas, I can circulate the Kansas Ambassadors of Music program throughout this state and give our youth the chance to change their lives in the most positive way. I am confident in my ability to take on this leadership role and change lives. I want to reshape mindsets of our youth and young adults who in turn can reshape mindsets of their communities, and there is no more efficient and prompt way to accomplish this than through the positive role of Miss Kansas.
