Linda Edds represented the title of Miss Manhattan K-State before competing winning the title of Miss Kansas 1970.  She then went on to compete in the Miss America Pageant with Phyllis George, who then became Miss America. After her year of service, she received her BS in elementary education in 1971 from Kansas State University and her Master's degree in 1981 from the University of Kansas.

Linda participated in two USO trips to the Orient and to the Arctic regions with the Kansas State Singers. She taught 31 years, mostly in 5th grade, and retired in 2011. Linda has two grown children.  She has written a children's book on the meter, liter, and gram, soon to come out on Amazon.
