Sandy Rings - Miss Kansas 1971
As Miss Topeka, Sandy Rings won talent and went on to become Miss Kansas 1971. In Atlantic City, with Bert Parks as MC, Sandy again won Preliminary Talent and was in the Top Ten at the Miss America Pageant. Over the years she was thrilled to appear again six times in the Miss Kansas Pageant as a show principal or mistress of ceremonies, most recently in 2011.
Sandy went on to study music and drama at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City. Subsequently, she moved to Texas and began a twenty-five-year career in ventriloquism, appearing at banquets, conventions, trade shows, and on cruise ships.
Since her days as a ventriloquist, her main interest has been painting.
She was married to writer Bob St. John until his death in 2017.
